Here are some recent Ripley pics:
Included in this pic, counter-clockwise: a baby washcloth, a baby hat, Dan’s clean shirts, a cardboard box, a dryer ball, Sophie the stuffed cat, and a book of receipts. Oh, and a sleepy wupster wearing her detective jacket.
Here’s one from today:

My beloved pregnancy pillow arrived in the mail two days ago. It’s a Sleeper Keeper Mini by Leachco, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it.
Everyone else seems to love it, too. When I took it out of the box and commenced the snugglefest, Dan admitted that he wished he had one too! (I told him I’d look for a “manly pregnancy pillow”, but he decided he’d deal with regular old pillows.)
Sadly, all snugglefests must come to an end. And as soon as I relinquished my precious, it was immediately usurped by furry invaders:
Leo the bunny paid our bed a visit, and he thought the pillow made a nice burrow.
Ripley the dog soon staked her claim on the pillow, and proceeded to try every conceivable sleeping position with her new Doggy Nest:
Even Bun-Bun had to get in a cuddle with the pillow of amazingness:
It’s only a matter of time before the remaining rabbit, two cats, and two other dogs decide to get in on the action. I may never get a turn with my pillow again!

So, I have a very silly habit of rewriting the lyrics to songs – mostly about my pets, but occasionally about other things too (in high school, for example, I had a Descent Song, which I sang during Computer Lit class LAN parties. Nerd much?) When I brought Leo home, I made up a song called “You’re A Bunlet” (the title encompasses all the lyrics) which I sang to him the entire drive back to our apartment. Because Dan is weird like me, he contributes little snippets of song which I serenade our furry family with (“All the Single Ladies” becomes “All the Little Birdets”, “Bad Boys” = “Bad Buns”, etc.)
And speaking of bad buns – ever since Bad Girlfriend started playing incessantly on the radio, Dan and I have sang the chorus as “she’s a bad, bad bunlet”. Now, the rest of the song is pretty nasty, and I’m not a fan of the Explicit & Degrading Sexual Rock Song Phenomena (Always Sang from a Douche-y Perspective) so clearly this isn’t my favorite tune. But I listen to rock radio while driving, and I used to spend a LOT of time in the car, so after hearing it far too many times I started coming up with alternate lyrics for the rest of the song. (Dan helped with this part, too, especially the chorus.)
Without further ado, I present to you: BAD BUNLET.
My bunlet had bad habits
My bunlet is a rabbit
Running all around the room
Getting angry at the broom
Gives a kiss then off she runs
She is the ficklest of bunsHiding underneath the bed
Getting food stuck on her head
Growling when she’s really mad
The strangest pet we’ve ever hadNo one really knows
If she’ll chew up all your clothes
When she’s hopping in your laundry tonightShe likes to shake her tail
And stomp her little feet
She’ll bite you on the hand
And still expect a treat
She gets out of her cage
She’s such a naughty pet
Know what she is, no doubt about it
She’s a bad, bad bunletChewing up computer cords
She ruins things we can’t afford
She’s so cute but deep inside
She couldn’t be good if she triedNo one really knows
If she’ll chew up all your clothes
When she’s hopping in your laundry tonightShe likes to shake her tail
And stomp her little feet
She’ll bite you on the hand
And still expect a treat
She gets out of her cage
She’s such a naughty pet
Know what she is, no doubt about it
She’s a bad, bad bunlet
(There is no bridge, because that would just be too many words!)

Things Ripley likes: being in the way.
Things Ripley doesn’t like: forced cuddles.
I figure since I put up with her computer-blocking (she’s also adept at book-blocking and Nintendo DS-blocking), she can put up with my cuddles, even if she’ll whine the whole time.

Ripley and Jethro are so cute when at rest…
But they are absolutely stupid-looking when at play.
And if you think they look stupid while fighting, check out how they look when they realize I’m taking pictures of them.
…Yeah.

Nyx is at her happiest when she’s hopping all over our bed. She binkies, hops on pillows, jumps on the shelves and knocks picture frames over, turns into a bunloaf, and gives LOTS of kisses!
Tonight, she decided to try her hand (paw?) at using the computer.
Then one of our Valentine’s balloons blew over to the bed, and Nyx decided to it was her new toy.
Well, the string was her toy anyway – she chewed through the ribbon and away flew the balloon.
Playtime over, it was time for Daddy Cuddles!

We took the doggies to the snow.
Jethro and Molly LOVE the snow; they get ridiculously, cutely excited when they’re in it. They run around and go crazy and try to eat it all up.
Ripley, on the other hand, wasn’t so impressed.
I don’t know if she’s ever seen snow before – when she first saw it outside the car window, she went crazy, barking and bouncing off the walls. And she seemed to like playing in the snow for the first half hour, but then it got cold. Even I was cold, and I’m not a tiny dog with no clothes and short fur. Luckily I dressed Ripley in a sweater layered under a puffy jacket and brought a blanket to wrap her in, and Dan was willing to cuddle her for the rest of the afternoon.
At least Ripley got one sled ride in. Here’s proof:
